Indians across the globe are celebrating the 71st Republic Day on Sunday i.e., today. Republic Day is celebrated to mark India becoming a republic nation by adopting its constitution on January 26, 1950. As a tribute, several Republic Day parades are organised in the capital city. Apart from that, all schools, societies and institutions across the country hoist the tricolour and play all the popular patriotic songs. And while most of the Indians celebrate this auspicious occasion with utmost dedication, how can our B-townies lag far behind?

A streak of Bollywood celebrities took to their social media accounts and expressed love for their motherland. The list includes Shah Rukh Khan, Sara Ali Khan, Ajay Devgn, Swara Bhasker, Shilpa Shetty, Diana Penty, Yash and Mohanlal among several others. “Proud to be an Indian, today & always. Happy 71st #RepublicDay to all,” wrote Ajay Devgn, while Diana Penty tweeted, “A day to be remembered, a day to be thought about & a day to be proud of! Happy #RepublicDayIndia.” Suniel Shetty wrote, “A PROUD INDIAN #HappyRepublicDay #RepublicDayIndia #RepublicDay #HappyRepublicDay2020.”
